About the founder

KALTANI is a clean-tech plastic recycling and waste management company committed to tackling the global plastic epidemic by utilising systematic scalable steps to reduce PET, PE, PP Plastic pollution and municipal solid waste.
KALTANI was founded by Obi Charles Nnanna, a petroleum engineer, impact entrepreneur and sustainability leader who holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma, USA and an MBA from the University of St Thomas.
Moved by the high pollution rate in Africa, he founded KALTANI to solve the problem of plastic pollution and carbon emissions. He is also a strong advocate for job creation as he has been able to empower over 5,000 waste pickers, and create over 500 jobs with KALTANI.
He is well recognised for his ability to manage capital intensive projects and complex value chains. He has been featured in various magazines as a leading voice for plastic recycling and innovations in environmental technology, and has been invited as a speaker at prolific events.
Through KALTANI, he aims to leave landmarks in solving plastic pollution and unemployment in Africa.
